Before using your car or going out on the road, carrying out an inspection is synonymous with peace of mind, economy and safety for you and your companions. In auto service, there are key details to review to know if your vehicle is ready to keep up with you on the street and highway.

Battery

Periodically check the exterior of your Battery to make sure it is in good condition, as its useful life depends on use. To keep it charged, it is advisable to use internal lighting, spotlights, sound system and ventilation moderately. In addition, it is advisable to take it for review every three months.

Tires

The state of your tires can vary due to use and the type of traction of each vehicle, but the main indicator is: if the pattern on the tires is lost and they begin to look smooth, it is time to change them. It is recommended to check them every 10,000 km. Regarding the inflation of the tires, check your user manual and keep them at the pressure indicated there, as inflating them too much can cause cuts or ruptures when receiving an impact, and inflating them less can contribute to excessive heating and cause internal structural damage that affect other systems as well.

Timing Chain or Belt

The one in charge of converting the power of the engine into the movement of your car is the belt or distribution chain. Being such an important part, it is recommended to check it periodically and it is usually included in the general engine service, however, it is convenient that you change it at 90,000 and 160,000 km.

Shock absorbers

The frequency indicated to inspect your shock absorbers is 20,000 km or earlier if there are noises, knocks or instability. The change can go from 40,000 km to 80,000 km depending on how recent the vehicle is.

Air Filters, Oil and Gasoline Filter

The filters are responsible for retaining impurities so that they do not pass into the engine or contaminate the combustion chamber and cylinders. It is recommended to change the air ones every year or at 20,000 km, depending on the type of wear. Change oil filters every 10,000 km or when changing oil and fuel every 30,000 km to use their capabilities to the fullest.

Windshield wiper blades

This is one of the most obvious changes, since it directly affects driving visibility, and these are also one of the parts most affected by the environment. Excessive heat and rain are usually accelerators of wear, therefore, you should change them every year between autumn and spring, in addition to checking them every 6 months.
