The paint of our car is not only a decoration that gives a certain personality to the vehicle according to what we have chosen, no, it is much more than that, it is very similar to the skin that covers our body and it works basically in the same way, as it is the one in charge of protecting our car from the inclemency of the weather and other external situations that may occur.

If a car has no paint, the sheet metal that gives the vehicle its shape will be left out in the open, and it doesn't matter if it is made of aluminium, steel or even fibreglass, external factors will weaken it, damage it, scratch it, in short, render it unusable in a matter of days, perhaps not days, but months.

That's why today we'll give you some tips on how to take care of your car's paintwork, something you'll never regret.

1- Washing

In urban and rural areas it is the same, corrosive agents are in the environment, dirt and other things damage the paint, so it is very important that you wash your car at least once a week, if possible with shampoo and sponge so you do not do so much effort.

2- Follow the seasons

Not because of fashion, but because of the change of weather. This will help you to wax it at least four times a year, which ideally should be done every change of season to protect the paintwork from weather changes.

3- Maintenance

Scratches, scuffs, scrapes or small contacts should be repaired immediately, so it's not a bad idea to consider a visit to the body shop, including an annual paint bath if necessary, although the ideal would be to polish the paintwork, but beware, this should only be done once a year at the most.

4- Under cover

The ideal is that you look for shade, if possible, and that you keep your car indoors for as long as possible since the sun and rain are very harmful to the paint, in fact the sun is the worst enemy of your paint, so if you have to leave it on the street, you could opt for a tarp to cover it and that will do a good job, especially if there are trees nearby.
